This policy explains how Instille Technologies LLC (“Instille,” “we”) handles information on instille.com and the Instille waitlist. The Instille app will have its own privacy policy, published before launch.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist.
- Your answers to our optional questions about your meditation habits, if you choose to answer.
- Your invite code, the code of the person who invited you (if anyone did), and how many people have joined with your link.
- The name of the site or campaign that sent you, if the link you used includes one.
- Which version of our headline you saw when you joined. We show visitors one of two headlines at random to learn which explains Instille better.
- The date you joined.
We don't ask for health information, and we ask you not to send it to us.
Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them. This site uses no cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers. If you arrive through an invite link, your browser keeps that invite code for the current session only, so the right person gets credit. Your browser also remembers which headline you saw and whether you turned the sound off on our breathing demo, so the page stays the same when you come back. That stays on your device and isn't sent to us, except for the headline, which is sent with your signup.
How we use it
- To run the waitlist: confirm your signup, send your invite link, and track invites toward founding-member status.
- To invite you to the beta and early access, and to tell you when Instille launches.
- To understand, in aggregate, what gets in the way of a regular practice and which headline explains Instille best, so we build the right thing.
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that help us run the waitlist, under their own terms: Google, whose Google Workspace stores the waitlist and sends our emails, and Netlify, which hosts the site. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the company, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist information until you ask us to delete it or until we close the waitlist, whichever comes first. We'll close the waitlist within 12 months after the Instille app launches. If you become an Instille member, the app's privacy policy applies from then on.
Your choices
- To leave the waitlist, or to see, correct, or delete your information, email hello@instille.com from the address you signed up with, or reply to any of our emails. We'll respond within 30 days.
- Every email we send explains how to stop receiving them.
Children
The waitlist is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has joined, email us and we'll delete their information.
Security and storage
We use established providers, limit access to our accounts, and protect them with two-step verification. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Information is stored in the United States; if you join from outside the US, it's transferred there.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll email people on the waitlist before it takes effect.
